I was walking through Leeds late one afternoon after a busy morning of readings, and as I passed a favourite café of mine I noticed two familiar faces through the window. Andrew Dunn who was and still is a very close friend of mine, and Mark Addy who I had met through a mutual friend while they were appearing in the theatre together.

Andy suggested I join them for coffee and we started discussing that they had just auditioned for the same character in a well known Yorkshire soap and they asked me if I knew which of the two of them might get the role. I told them neither had been successful and both looked understandably disappointed with my forecast.

Suddenly I turned to Mark and said "but you have much greater opportunities coming your way" and told him of the following career path awaiting him as an actor. A leading role in a major film playing a sex symbol which would eventually lead to him walking down the "red carpet" of prestigious film awards and ceremonies. I then forecast Mark would go onto work in Hollywood and become a very famous actor for many years to come. I think by then although he appeared excited about my forecast for him he must have felt totally sceptical about my vision, especially after hearing my negativity regarding his audition earlier that day.

The above "accidental" meeting took place almost two years before Mark was to appear as a lead character in the now infamous "FULL MONTY", many roles in Hollywood soon followed and as the saying goes "the rest is history".

I am grateful to Mark for allowing me to discuss the above experience as I am proud of all my forecasts, and this one gave me great encouragement to never doubt my gift.

When I was 28 years old my nanny died and never having lost anyone before, I felt bereft. So a fellow actor suggested I go to see a medium her sisters had been to see. All I was told was that she lived in a pit village, near Leeds and did the readings from her house.

At the time I was still with my boyfriend, even though he had called off our wedding as he didn't feel ready to get married, yet he still wanted to remain engaged to me. I therefore decided to slip my engagement ring off, so that Julie would have no clues as to my relationship status.

This boyfriend was such a sceptic, he refused to drive me anywhere near Julie's house so he dropped me about half a mile from her home. Arriving somewhat sweaty and a bit shattered, I was pleasantly surprised when a heavily pregnant and glamorous young woman opened the door and showed me through to a pretty sitting room. She left the room to get me a glass of water and I imagined she was going to get changed and re- enter wearing a flowing robe and headscarf, dim the lights and get out a crystal ball....Instead Julie came in, curled up on the sofa opposite me and said:

"My dad says you're engaged, why aren't you wearing your ring?" I was so amazed I just sat there. She then proceeded to enlighten me about my living arrangements and at one point said: "Well you've got all these accents around you and by the end of the year you are going to be working on television with a leading comedian".

At the time I was regularly employed by Hull Truck Theatre Company so Julie's prediction seemed somewhat fanciful and unbelievable ...

In December that year, I got a job working with the fantastic Victoria Wood and I was indeed on television.

Julie also knew exactly who my fiancé was and described him in detail, he was in a TV show at the time and even though he'd gone to great pains to drop me off far away from her house, she could still psychically 'see' who he was.

I remember leaving that first reading thinking that I had never met such a glamorous woman with such an amazing gift. It was a truly inspiring reading, one that helped both me and thereby my mum, with what Julie was able to tell me about my deceased nanny.

I have been fortunate enough to have had many readings from Julie over the years and even though her fame has grown, she has always remained the same honest, hardworking, inspiring, phenomenally talented lass I have always known.

My Son Mark was electrocuted at work one day, he was 31 and my best friend. He was a beautiful, happy, hardworking and loving person, to everyone,..but especially to me. To say my life changed forever, and I was in shock and the deepest of grief,.. Is an understatement. I struggled to continue to live my life without him, as I could not believe the sun still set and rose each day when I felt so lost and lonely.

The first months are a nightmare of regret, suffocating grief, and total loss, and loneliness. And as a mother the guilt of not stopping it from happening to him. I don't think the words have been invented yet, to describe my pain which I was in and had to live with 24/7, which then extends to all the family and friends that care about me. It was a spiral into the deepest darkest place I have ever been.

My mother and husband didn't want to leave me alone as they though I would take my own life, as the pain and the thought of living like this for the rest of my life was unbearable, and too much hard work, when death was so easy.

I have just read this back before I continue on,....and the thing is I cannot put into words how bad it was and how awful I felt,...but I've tried. I struggled and fought to cope with it, but the longer it went on the worse it got. I could not believe it could get worst but it did!!!! I went to the Spiritual Church to try and get a message, and a couple of mediums just looking for something to soothe me, without any joy.

After Two years, my dear friend from school Pauline, said she could not bear to watch my pain any longer, she was going to do something about it. One day she came and said she was going to take me to see this "Julie Cryer" who she knew (and thank God She did know her) she picked me up and drove me to Yorkshire for a visit to her home and back.

At Julie's home, I met her, she is a beautiful looking lady,....but there is a calmness about her that touches your soul. We talked a little and I began to feel normal (which was strange as I had stopped feeling anything). We then went to a room for the meeting just us two, she talked to me about Mark, she then described him. She talked to me about things only Mark would of known,....but the thing was,...she sounded like him, she had his mannerisms, the way he explained things,......she was him !!!!!!

She told me so much, but they were small private normal things that had happened, or we had done, and all the time she had the same mannerisms and the way his spoke.

Lots was said about our relationship, and his brother, and it was the very words he had said to me about him. It was as if I had been given a little time with him once more. We said our goodbyes,....happily.

When I left the room my friend said l looked different, I walked lighter. But best of all I felt better, I was soothed, calm, peaceful, I still had lost my Son, but that was the beginning of me piecing my life back together. I wanted to go back and see Julie so many times, but I felt she had told me all I needed to hear (but you always want more). I am sitting here with the tears dripping off my chin with the emotion of the memory of that day.

Julie is an amazing gifted woman, who has saved my life with her gift,... And how many other people she has helped, who I don't know about.

Julie Cryer you are the very best, and am blessed to have met you. I wish you nothing but the very best in your new venture. I know you will do well, as you are to brilliant not too.
